Roger Waters The Wall Live 2010

Last Thursday I was fortunate enough to attend Roger Water's 2010 version of The Wall, live in concert.

I was a huge Pink Floyd fan back in the day but even if you only have a mild interest in The Wall, you'll love this show. I'm also secure enough in my manhood to admit that I love big theatrical productions. Boy was this a big theatrical production.

It helped that my friend is a large ticket broker and we scored 7th row seats dead center.

I had really intended on taking a few videos and I tried in the opening moments but it didn't take long before all hell broke loose and I said screw it. The only video I got was probably the worst I've ever taken because I was so focused on the show.

I wish I had more pictures to share as well but the show was so powerful I didn't think about pulling out a camera or phone. The only picture I took was during the intermission.

The first half half of the show the wall was being built the whole time. Meaning the last song in the first half saw the final brick in the wall placed. Here's what it looked like at half-time from our seats:

The show ended much as the original one did 30 years ago, with the wall exploding. However, I think they probably did a better job using 2010 technology.

If you aren't convinced yet that you need to go see the show in one of the other spots on the tour which still remain, I picked a few choice YouTube files for you to view. These videos were taken by other people who had more patience than myself.

Here's Roger singing VERA. Very powerful stuff.

Goodbye Blue Sky

No way, I love Pink Floyd. They're the best ever. Lucky sod, Rick.

Too cool Rick it's nice to take some time and enjoy a great show.Happy Thanksgiving.

Im honestly still in awe of the show and experience. It transcended the term "concert" in so many ways.

I forever envied stories my dad told of live Floyd shows. I have been a fan since birth (my parents played PF while i was in the womb) and lamented that I would never see a live concert. This show was the closest I could ever get to it.

Easily the most incredible live performance I have seen, of any kind.

I just saw the show in Denver. Mindblowing. It was absolutely the most amazing production I have ever seen!

Pink Floyd is awesome! You shouldn't explain about your manhood security. His shows are amazing.

Pink Floyd with Roger Waters - defined a couple of generations I think! I have a concert cd with songs that lasted >20 minutes and they are incredible. I'll have to look into the remaining shows!

  • Doron Grill

Well, I saw the original concert in Earls Court, London, England, in 1982 (I think), and it was amazing then.

  • Rick Latona

Ok, Doron. Now I'm jealous. I remember watching the live broadcast on TV that he did from Berlin in 1990 when the wall came down. It was full of guest musicians like Cindi Lauper. Good stuff...
