Normally I'm not too crazy about movie related names as there are many established players in online video. ShortFilms.com is set apart, in my opinion. Sometimes it's better to have a domain that is more targeted to a specific niche and not TOO generic.
When I think of short films I think of mostly low budget amateurish films. So why not cater to them? Run a contest to kick start people uploading the films.
I know a lot of my readers live in or around Hollywood, CA. Buy the domain and promote it at ground level.
