Panerai's are popular. Boy, they fly off our shelves. It's one of those few watch brands that have an excellent chance of increasing in value right after you buy them.
I have a good friend that's a Navy Seal and loves his Panerai watches. It got me curious about the Navy's effect on their style so I did a little research and learned something I thought all of you watch lovers would appreciate.
Most people who have seen a Panerai during the evening are quick to notice how bright the luminescence can be. After all, on a ship at night or deep in the water you need to be the numbers clearly.
During the second world war the Italian navy was buying Panerai watches for their officers. Panerai, at that time, divided their line into two basic types Panerai Luminor and Panerai Radiomir. There are many different Luminors and many different Radiomirs but Panerai watches are one of those two.
Luminor watches contain tritium while Radiomir watches contain radium.
The watch we have is the Panerai Radiomir Ref PAM00141. It is complete with box and papers.
Another thing worth noting about this exact piece is its crocodile strap. It has that look that works with jeans and a t-shirt as well as it does with a nice sports coat.
Wonderful in their simplicity and clarity, Panerai watches are great investments.
