“Cool watch, buddy”. That’s what the person in line at Starbucks said to me while I was wearing this Graham Chronofighter Oversize Mark III Watch. I get that all the time being that I’m in the business but this was particularly interesting because I was only wearing this watch for 15 minutes to inspire myself for this article. It was a test drive to help me get it sold for our customer.
But it is a cool watch. It’s got the wow factor without having the bling factor. It stands out in the crowd without looking like you are trying to stand out in a crowd.
Graham watches are known for making great sports and pilots watches. That large trigger you see on the side was placed their for British bomber pilots who during the war had gloves on and needed to time their bombing runs. It became part of their style so those triggers are still used today. I have to admit, it’s a heck of a lot easier to use than most chronographs.
Graham only made 500 of these Mark III watches and the one we have is complete with the box and papers. It’s number 309 of 500.
It has a massive 46 mm case but doesn’t feel too big when you are wearing it. Partly because the trigger is at 9 o’clock rather than 3 o’clock so the extra width isn’t noticeable on the wrist.
