Most in the watch industry consider Patek Philippe the world’s best watch maker. Today we got in inventory their most iconic of designs, the men’s Calatrava 5120. It’s not just any Calatrava though, it’s a solid 18k gold Calatrava complete with box and papers.
The Calatrava, introduced in 1932, set the standard for round wristwatches. It defines what it means to have a classic design. It’s Patek’s signature model.
I had a Calatrava myself at one time but mine was a manual watch, meaning I had to wind it once a day. This watch that we have is an automatic. I’m just amazed at how they could do that in such a slim design. You don’t have to be a watch expert to appreciate the skills involved behind the production of this time piece.
The gold itself is silky smooth and the band drapes around your wrist. It’s the most comfortable watch I’ve ever put on.
Below I’ve pasted some technical specs on the watch. If you want to make an offer on it, you can do so at Latona’s. More detailed photos will also be found there.
