$395 Price Point for T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Vancouver - Let's see how many people we can get to the show

T.R.A.F.F.I.C. should have a return on investment for our attendees and sponsors, not us. While we can't promise this will continue, we would like to announce that we are dropping our price for T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Vancouver all the way down to $395 (USD).

This is the price for everyone. Those who have paid more will be reimbursed the difference. Clearly with this new price there will be no further discounts and negotiation.

The show is already shaping up to be a great success and we want to see how far we can push the envelop. Let's pack it with as many people as we can.

This is major news as no major domainer event has ever cost so little to attend.

Vancouver is already a major draw and we are taking a big risk with this price. Many people have already purchased tickets and will need refunds. We aren't worried though because we feel strongly that a $395 price point will bring in the additional people to really put the show on the map.

Again, this is no promise that it will remain this inexpensive but we want to do what we can to help everyone during this financial crisis. Join us in Vancouver. Let us show you why attending T.R.A.F.F.I.C. is good for your business.

We also have three fully packed days of activities and events. This is not a small show. See you in early June!

    Rick,

I’ve been on the fence about attending Vancouver, partly because of the price, but mostly because of the elitist attitude that surrounded the event in the past. I distinctly remember organizers in the past telling domainers that this event was only for the top tier domainers and if you can’t afford it, you weren't welcomed.

I believe that message received loud and clear by the majority of domainers.

That always seemed like such a selfish and short term attitude to take for conference that depended on an industry that was still in its infancy. Successful and sustaining organizations take the time to cultivate, encourage and educate the next generation of leaders. DomainFest has always had a much more inclusive atmosphere conducive to burgeoning domainers having educational conversations with successful domainers and, in the process, were able to build relationships.

Before you point to Test Track, let me stop you. I personally think it is a great idea and one others should follow.

However, the Test Track target market are entrepreneurs who are looking for Early Stage or Angel Investors, hence, they need money. These are primarily Bootstrappers who are watching every penny and the total cost of the event (admission, flights, hotel rooms, entertainment, etc) IS significant. I would suggest a few free tickets for those that qualify for Test Track but cant afford it, just to encourage more entries from those who otherwise wouldn't due to financial struggles. You never know what you’ll find.

No matter the motivation, lowering the price to $395 WAS a smart and inclucive move that opens up participation to a wider audience of deserving domainers. I am looking forward to the event and sharing time and best practices with both industry leaders and up-and-comers, alike.

If anyone in the Seattle area wants to drive or fly up together, lemme know.

Never will so many pay so little for so much.

Were it not for a previous commitment, I'd be among the many.

    Rick,

I too am in agreeance with J.A. Lohmann.

Most entrepreneurs, with me as no exception, pour heart, money and soul into testing a concept or bringing their product, service or dream to the investment stage, and have trouble budgeting for next week's lunches - let alone a conference whereby they have to pay, pitch and pray that someone sees the same vision.

Some often have to resort to selling possessions, others borrowing just to try and cover airfare, let alone the original asking price to get my foot in the door for T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Vancouver.

With this price drop, it still remains a feat for me to get there and pitch at Test Track, but at $395, I am only $395 away :o )

Test Track is Day one. In my opinion, it is the center attraction as you always put your best foot forward and with a handful of selected candidates, it would not cost much to throw a few free entry passes the entrepreneur way.

I am every so grateful to be one of the lucky few who will get to pitch, but in a humble kind of way, I think the quality of the ideas that will be brought forth will inturn pay for themselves many times over and give T.R.A.F.F.I.C. additional branding exposure and grow its marketshare.

Sometimes when we are leaders in an industry, marketplace or domain, we often forget where we originally started, and often times if were not for a break given here or there, perhaps we would not be where we are today.

As George B Shaw once said “If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”

I like JA Lohman's idea as things always pay themselves forward for the better somehow.

    Cheers
    Mike
