Come meet France's AFNIC (.FR) - New Paper on The Secondary Market in Domain Names

One of the most sought after extensions in Europe, .fr, seems to be getting more and more friendly with domainers.

AFNIC, the organization that runs the ccTLD will be sending a few people to Milan for our T.R.A.F.F.I.C. event later this month.

Today, they issued a white paper on the secondary market. You can download the entire paper here: http://www.afnic.fr/data/divers/public/afnic-issue-paper-secondary-market-2010-04.pdf.

From the article they site, "Tightly focused on generic Top Level Domains (such as .com, .net, .org, etc) until about 2008, the market has since broadened to include geographic TLDs which are considered by specialists as being rich in opportunities and both more accessible and attractive in terms of pricing levels." - We agree completely.

It's really refreshing to see this report. I'm excited to spend time with them in a couple of weeks.

A shame you did not answer your emails, would have been a good chance to promote your events to French domainers. Best of luck anyway for the conference :)

Average Joe, I can't find any emails from your email address. Can you please resend?

I would like it if they opened up the .fr extension to anyone to register. I know French as a second language and would definitely register some, France has a good size population of internet users.
