Targeted TRAFFIC's new Open Arms policy - No more invitation only

Rick, Howard and I want to grow TRAFFIC into something very special for the industry.

Just today we've cut a deal for a major CPA companyto give a really educational lecture/lesson in New York on buying traffic and monitizing outside the PPC industry. More on that later... The reason I am bringing it up now because it is all part of a broader strategy to get more people in the room that can help us all. Which brings me to the rest of this post.

The real announcement today is the launch of our new "Open Arms" policy.

In the past TRAFFIC  was an invitation only event. It is now open to anyone who wants to connect with domainers. There are a number of reasons why this is important.

First, you never know where the next great idea is going to come from.

Second, small time players can become big time players. We want to know who you are regardless of your standing in the industry.

It's a new beginning for us and the industry. It's time for some real soul searching and for us to unite together and work on ways to bring back the profits of the past.

We can do it and will do it. See you in New York.

    I am so glad to see that everyone realizes that there are fresh minds and greta ideas in the domainers you havn't heard of. I am looking forward to learning more and maybe giving some of my experience to those who are seeking advice that it took me twelve years to learn.

    By invitation only policy was a little bit odd recently. In the beginning it could be a good idea. But when the domain industry has grown and developed - no longer needed. Good decision to introduce open arms policy!

    Open arms is good....Now get those open arms to the boardrooms and let them know there welcome. In fact I really do hope you spend at least 10% of your marketing budget maybe on other marketing avenues (affiliate marketing confrences, software confrences, etc) Also another huge industry is the work from home crowd. In this economy many people are looking to do do their own thing and if they have the BEST info to start that business ie domain name for one, then their business would have one leg up against the rest! Just some ideas guys :)

    We're always hearing about how Madison Avenue doesn't get it, but now it's time to use what Madison Avenue gets so well to create demand on the part of mainstream end users.

    If you just have to have the name brand despite the high price, that, my friend, is Madison Avenue.

    Finally! This move is long overdue. Along with recently announced price reductions, this may make TRAFFIC relevant again.

    Maybe you can spend money advertising the domain industry or put it in front of the media. Hope this positive talk doesn't fizzle out.
    Maybe you can get Howard Schwartz to stop talking so negatively about the domain industry except when it's time to do a traffic conference then he hypes it up.

    Why don't you make the price of Traffic more affordable so more people can come.
    Let the big sponsors make the party. Your conference is one of the most expensive I know.

    Great move guys! Combined with the new lower pricing, should bring out lots of 'new blood' to the domain conference scene!

    Hmmm. Does this Open Arms policy mean that all of the people and organizations RS banned forever and all eternity are now allowed to mingle and hug at traffic? I can hear Journey singing now, "So now I come to you, with open arms. Nothing to hide, believe what I say...." - fool us once, shame on you, fool us twice...
