I often get questions about the Lincoln in the header of this website. That car, isn't actually mine. I told my designer I had an old convertible Continental so he just looked one up on the net. Being that he lives in the Philippines, it wasn't exactly easy for him to come over and take a gander at the real thing.

What I own is a 1965 Lincoln Continental convertible. It is a frame off restoration done by Mobsteel Customs out of Detroit.

I bought the car off of Albert Haynesworth. He's the Tennessee Titan football player that stepped on that guy's face a couple of years ago. If you pay attention to such things... It was a big deal at the time for Sportscenter fans.

These pictures you are looking at were taken from Mobsteel's website. The car for the most part still looks the same but the roof isn't working and one of the door handles fell off. Thus, it is at a specialists shop at the moment.

Some of you might recognize this car. It's the same make, model and year as the ride from the opening sequence of HBO's hit T.V. series Entourage. The big difference is that their '65 Lincoln had the original wheels, hub caps, etc.

Which do you think is better? Now that I have it at that shop, I'm trying to decide if I want to replace the Mobsteel logos with Continental logos and put the original wheels back on the car.

What would you do?

    I'd keep it just like it is.. especially since it's a MobSteel custom. Those dudes know what they're doing. Love the two-tone interior.. It's a bad ass ride.. wouldn't change a thing.

    Being from Detroit and spending 8 years in the auto industry myself, you gotta stick with original if the rest of the car is original. However, if it's not, then just go with what looks better.

    Original is good. Good ole American steel from that period is awesome. I drove Mopar in late 60s. Vet for fun and Chrysler 300 for the luxury ride.

    If everything was original I would keep it all original as from a collector standpoint I think original is good. It does look like it came out of "pimp my ride" in its current state but I definitely dig it. I would probably leave it as is and if only a few parts are not original I would secure those parts in case in the future you wanna convert it back, if a bunch of stuff is not original which is probably the case I would leave it alone as it looks cool as is.

    If you can get originals, yeah go with it. Or at least a mag wheel that was somewhat popular back then. Keep in it's era. Nice ride. Very nice!

    I must admit, I'm a sucker for original rims on classic cars. Like Richard said, especially from this era. I googled it and I sure do like the originals. Did this have white walls? If so, I'd probably go with that too, again if possible. They would look good with the black. Also, did the '65 have a hood ornament?

    If the question even is in your head then you must like the original look of the exterior. Just do it! Make the change.

    Thats a sharp car Rick. My vote would be to lose those rims and rubber band sized tires. I think you'd be able to go with a smaller rim size, maybe 16-18" while still having room for a 2 inch white wall. If the rims were chrome smoothies with black glossy spider caps it would look really sharp.

    My daily is a 60 Impala. 14 inch chrome smoothies with 2 3/8" white walls. What is not shown is an enormous set of 5" bullet caps that almost look comical.

    Had a triple black '61 Convert...
    Had a Double White w/Red leather '62 Convert...

    Wide whites let it say: " I'm a Classy Classic. "

    I'd go with the original logos, rims and redstripe tires. That would set it off. Awesome ride...

    I would definitely take that "MOBSTEEL" emblem off. Why be a rolling advertisement unless they'll give you a CONSIDERABLE discount? I like the lip on those rims as well. What kind are they? Love the Lincoln though, Great paint job. Now all you need is a 1991-1995 Toyota MR2......:) Good Luck!!!!

    Don't change a thing. That car is sinister as can be and should not be reverted to original. If you want original, buy another one. If that won't work, write me with a price as I'll take the mobsteel version for a fair price.. BTW, love the dog!

    I'll send you my 70 challenger and cash for it.. :o )
